About Alex

Hey there!

I am Alex, founder of the Working Mom of Littles website and discussion! As many of us know, raising children can be challenging, but balancing it with a full time job, a husband, your health, and all the other things can be down right maddening. Learning to move through those challenges and growing with my children is something I want to share as I feel it is not often discussed or talked about in the honest way that many mothers can benefit to hear about it.

So come, learn a little about me and why I’m here with all this honesty….

The Transition to Motherhood…

Growing up, and in my early dating years, I always knew I wanted to be a mother. Honestly, I’m not sure why but I knew it was going to be a part of my story, somehow. I also knew that I wanted to change the world. I wanted to do big things. I wanted to make a difference, and I pursued those passions by getting a degree in Industrial Engineering and moving into the healthcare industry, which many of us know is completely broken.

Prior to having my children, work was my whole and full identity. It didn’t matter where I worked; it always played out that whatever I was doing for work, I was fully and wholey committed to. Working late nights, working on weekends, and not making much time for anything else was my motto and my ethos. Even after getting married, my husband had very similar habits and those habits we both embodies continued on. Until….

We had our first child in 2020. And boy, did that rock my world. Nothing changes (and continues to change you, day over day, month over month) like motherhood. I worked just as hard as ever through my pregnancy and into his first year of life, and I got pregnant…again. Yes! Irish Twins!

At that point, my grind personality couldn’t sustain, and I had to revisit who I was as a person, a professional, and a mother.

From Grinding to Growing as a Professional and a Mom

The beginning years of motherhood are incredibly challenging, and I believe there need to be more platforms that talk about it openly and honestly.

I struggled to find working moms that were balancing all of the things and openly talking about how HARD it is. What is okay to drop? What is okay to not do well? How can I focus on the right things?

There are so many narratives and people focused on just ONE aspect of it, but as a mother, we have to embody it all. Staying healthy, being a great mom, learning new skills, making great food, THE LAUNDRY…its all the things that truly make up a working moms challenges that can be the most difficult.

My Goal Is For You To Know You Are Not Alone

My goal is to be honest and discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of being a mother. To transparently talk about being a working mom and what it means as my kids continue to grow and evolve as their own people. I believe we are all on this Earth for a purpose, and mothers who have multiple purposes (working and momming) need the support to get through the tough times and come out on the other side.

So, whatever you are struggling with as a working mom, my website and content is designed to help you through that.

And if you ever have a question or feel like you need to reach out, I want you to feel that this is a safe place to do so.

So, thats the story. That’s why I’m here, and I’m excited to get to know you <3

Cheers,

Alex Choquette
